1. Next Reformation Society Conference:
Saturday, January 27, 2007, featuring Dr. Philip Ryken.
SAVE THE DATE! Our Annual Conference in January will feature Dr. Philip Ryken, author, radio host, and pastor of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA.
Our theme will be "City on a Hill" and will explore the nature of the church in the world. We also hope to have a special session devoted to urban ministry. Additional guests and the location will be announced soon.
We hope that you will be able to join us for this great event!
2. Radio programs supported by the Reformation Society
We, in conjunction with local area churches, sponsor two weekly radio
programs on KKMS AM 980:
Every Last Word, a weekly radio program featuring the preaching of Dr.
Philip Ryken, senior pastor of Tenth Presbyterian Church in
Philadelphia (following in the footsteps of Dr. James Boice, who died
in 2000), at 8pm on Sunday evenings. Dr. Ryken is currently doing a
series on the book of 2 Kings.
The White Horse Inn starts at 8:30pm on Sunday evenings. Below are the
programs during the coming weeks:
November 5, 2006
The Weaker Brother
In this edition of the White Horse Inn, the hosts discuss the relationship between liberty and license as they interact with Paul's admonition to be mindful of our weaker brothers in Christ.
November 12, 2006
The God of Promise
Why does God make an apparent switch from working with the Jewish nation throughout the Old Testament, to working with Gentiles in the New Testament? Tune in to this edition of the White Horse Inn as the hosts discuss Romans 15, where Paul reminds us that the inclusion of the Gentiles was always part of God’s messianic promise.
November 19, 2006
Smooth Talk & Flattery
In Romans 16, Paul warns that by the use of "smooth talk and flattery" some false teachers will "deceive the minds of naive people." In this edition of the White Horse Inn the hosts evaluate some ways in which the contemporary church is being affected by this "smooth-talker syndrome" as they begin to conclude the Romans Revolution.
November 26, 2006
Romans vs. The Bible
Throughout 2006, we have presented the truths that make Paul’s epistle to the Romans nothing short of revolutionary. But is its message consistent with the rest of the Bible? On this edition of the White Horse Inn, the hosts compare some of the major themes found in the Book of Romans with other texts from the Bible which seem to contradict Paul's teaching of sin and grace.
We hope you can tune in to this great hour of radio programming on
Sunday evenings!
3. Interested in getting involved?
We are in need of a number of volunteers, particularly in the areas of
outreaches to churches and local seminaries. Please contact send an
email to John Selvestra (selvestra@usfamily.net) if you are interested
in getting involved.
God bless,
The Reformation Society of the Twin Cities
